My Review

I read The Bone Season and loved it, so when a friend recommended that I read The Pale Dreamer before diving into The Mime Order, I sent the salute emoji and borrowed it from the library.

The Pale Dreamer is a prequel novella to the Bone Season series and shows us Paige’s first-ever assignment with the Seven Dials. This was not only super helpful in getting to know certain characters better, but also offered a fun, fast-paced reading experience during what ended up being a hectic couple of weeks in my life. Paige is such a great protagonist, and Shannon really knows how to write a supernatural fight.

As of this writing, I’ve also finished The Mime Order, and I’m enjoying my time with this series so much. If you’re also reading them for the first time, I second my friend’s recommendation to read this prequel after book one and before book two; the placement was excellent!
